A little like Miranda Priestly?
If you watched Devil wears Prada, you will know that Miranda Priestly is that Devil, that obnoxious woman who is the queen of the fashion magazine - Runway. Anyway, I still haven't watch the movie, what I know of it is from the book which I had finally finished reading. It took me sooo long and sometimes it bores me cause there are simply too many details in the book.
Back to the topic! Today my router cock up. Irritate the shit out of me. I hate it whenever there is anything wrong with my laptop, desktop, router, digital camera, and to sum it up, I can't stand it when any of these digital products are not working! I'm simply too reliant on them! Once they dont work properly, I cant do any other work except to get it fixed and when they don't, I get super pissed off~! I simply have no patience for these minor hiccups which cause me hours to find out what is the exact problem!! It's a pain in the ass.
So, my router is giving me problems today and I was asking my dear to fix it for me. Was practically hollering at him throughout the entire conversation. Until to the point I realise I'm a little like Miranda Priestly cause she does not accept reasons and does not want to listen to excuses, but she just want it fixed! And that's me just 2 hours ago, I wanted it fixed! I don't care why it's not working or what happen to the router or what can i do to make it work. I simply want 1 thing - WORK for goodness sake!
A little like her but it is that tyrannical part of her. Eeww~

Japanese Food
I've been eating jap food for the past few weeks. Been to sakae 3 times and went to a jap restaurant recommended by jw at cuppage. I am now very sick of jap food~!
Sister wanted to have her bday dinner at sakae so we went to the funan outlet today. The service sux big time.
I ordered chawanmushi together with some other plates of sushi. We waited for a very long time. All of them were served except that cup of egg. Nvm, so I ordered one more time with this particular waitress that Im really unhappy with.
Me: I want a miso soup and a chawanmushi
She: I cannot hear you. I will come back later.
(When she returns)
Me: I want a ...
She: You want a miso soup and chawanmushi right?
HELLO?!?! I thought you cannot hear me? What rubbish is this? And for goodness you dont tell ur customers that you cannot hear her, you should say "Sorry can you repeat?" or "Sorry can i get back to you later?"
Waited for around 15mins, NONE of them were served and I couldnt find her in the restaurant either. This was the 2nd time i ordered chawanmushi and it still did not come! Fedup! So jiefu cancelled the order and asked for the bill.
Finally found her at the cashier. OMG, when jiefu handed her the bill, she ran off to ask the manager. Hey hey, why is this dumb waitress so incompetent? She cannot be a waitress and cannot be a cashier. What's the point of employing her. In the end, we took around 10mins before jiefu paid for the bill.
The service really sux to the core. I saw a guy taking the feedback form at the cashier and his face was really black. He was sitting at the table beside mine and I always see his head bobbing up and down, searching for someone to take his orders. Same case goes for me, I dont see any waitress walking around and it's so hard to get one's attention. Terrible.
I understand that perhaps today they are busy cause of their "very attractive" promotion but I definitely wont patronise that outlet in the near future. Sux.

Sasco Sharity Night 2006
Attended this event yesterday night with dear at Neptune. Hehe. Heard about Neptune all the time but never once step into the place.
I dinno it was this BIG~ Heh.. there was a total of about 140+ tables (including the tables on the first and second level). My hopes of winning the lucky draw (travel vouchers) are dashed when i saw the amount of ppl who came.

But it was fun nonetheless. The emcee played games with the audience and they made me laugh like mad. Haha. Was tearing from laughing too much. :)
The food wasnt fantastic. Average. The door gifts consist of chips, peach tea, sweets and a torch. That torch became a plaything for my nephews since this morning. Hehe.

This is the view I had outside the Neptune. I also dinno the outdoor area outside esplanade are now sheltered. Since school term start, I have always been hanging around the west area. Super no life. :(
One of the many shots taken at the Neptune. I like this blurry picture. Hee.

Catch the midnite show at cathay - The Host. Haha. At first din wanna watch it cause i tot it's a scary show but saw comments that it was lame. After watching it, I think its very funny. Haha. Was practically laughing most of the time but it was pretty touching till the end.
Reached home at 3am. It's been a long time since i was out this late. Totally enjoyed myself. Feeling sweet. Heh

Before I go..
I know I should be sleeping right now but here I am, trying to blog about today. Lemme finish this quick cause I need to wake up early for class tomorrow.
First of all~ Yeah! I finally got the book "Devil wears Prada". Haha.. Very happy when I received the letter to collect it. I dunno why I'm more interested to read than to catch that 2hr movie. :P
Secondly, ate at Hogs' Breath today at Holland Village. All the hoo-ha bout it but its just so-so. I think the amount of money we paid isnt really justified but well, found something on the dish that excites me.
Look at this!

It's mashed potatoes. haha. To think that they will think of decorating it like that. Usually mashed potatoes is just one lump at that little corner isnt it? Haha. Easily amused, I am.
Lastly, a freak accident. I accidentally elbowed my dear on his MOUTH. It was abit painful cause I felt the teeth bites. But when I look at him, he had blood on his teeth and gums. Scare the hell out of me! His lips has 2 cuts and it wouldnt stop bleeding. I can still remember his teeth and gums filled with blood, was so afraid that I might knock out some of his teeth or what.. It must have been really painful for him.. Sorry dear.. I hope the cuts heal soon. :(
Alrighty, I'm done.. Going to bed..

At the Zoo
After that failed visit to Sentosa (the kids cried cos they were afraid of the dark and enclosed area in UnderwaterWorld), Jiejie & Jiefu decided to give the zoo a try.
Family outing to the zoo on Saturday and we had this planned more than a month ago!
The kids drove us all the way to mandai, taking turns when they are tired~

The zoo has indeed changed alot since my primary school days. I was so looking forward to the elephant ride with the kids as it brings back memories when I was young but too bad, I have 2 timid lil mousey over here. :(
Pic taken after the elephant show

Somehow this place reminds me of Thailand cos of the wooden huts and the coconut trees. Anyway this is the first photo of keatkeat! Cos he is so afraid of touching these fake animals for god-knows what reason. So all the while, only binbin is taking pics!
The same reason goes for this photo.

Dunno what's wrong with keat, he doesnt wanna face the camera and insist on looking at the animals. Heh. But I like it. They are so cute!
Small and Smaller

This is where the kids totally enjoyed themselves. They "sayang" the guinea pig and chase after it whenever it runs away. I was so glad at that point of time! Finally I dun haf to keep carrying them around. Imagine carrying a 10KG boy around the zoo? It is a workout rather than an excursion! Haha..
Polar Bear Enclosure

I found this poster. Wondering what's so special about this poster? 'INUKA' was my group name during a thailand school camp.. Heh.. I didn't know INUKA is the name of the first polar bear born in Singapore.
I can still remember my group members henna tattoo-ed our arms with the word 'INUKA' and because of the suntan I got during the camp, the word 'INUKA' sort of became a permanent tattoo on my arm. At that time, I was still doing catering and diners will ask me about the 'tattoo' cause it's so prominent! Eryer.. I didn't like it and almost wanted to go for an artificial tan haha. I was crazy to think of that idea anyway. But somehow it just fades off after sometime. I had long forgotten all about this until last Saturday.
And Finally..

Keatkeat and Ah Yi with the zebras! He is so adorable especially with that finger on his cheeks. (At this point, binbin is sleeping soundly in his mummy's arms.. Hee)
~~I love my nephews~~

Random

Monster House is our 20th movie! The movie is hilarious, especially that fat boy called chowder (reminds me of clam chowder). Hehe.
I was horrified when I walked into the theatre. That's because I saw an alarming number of kids, roughly 80% of the people watching the movie. Then I realised that it is the school holidays now :( But overall I was enjoying the movie, didn't really bother about the noises the kids made.
I hope I'm able to find time nxt friday to catch Devil wears Prada. Already on the reserved list of the book from the library but I'm the 15th person on that list! It's crazy.
The singnet unlimited broadband contract is killing me! Im paying $47 for 512kpbs connection. WTF! The promotion is only $29.95 for 512kbps and $39.95 for 1500kbps. I can easily get a faster connected with $47 lor! And damnit, I still have 7 more months before I can upgrade. Im wasting my money. Argh..
This morning's tutorial is the worst tutorial EVER in my NUS life.
A number of dumb things this stupid tutor did
1) She was unable to open the door of the tutorial room as it was locked and tried to pull the door by brute force. She has no common sense that she must scan her matriculation card at the scanner to unlock the door and therefore we wasted 30mins cause of her stupidity.
2) She called her boyfriend to accompany her and was busy calling the helpline for some angel to come to her rescue. Meanwhile, she was pak-tor-ing with her boyfriend in front of all of us. Hug him, touch him, play with him. This is ridiculous.
3) She is from China and obviously her English isnt very good. So I practically couldnt understand what she was talking about. I rather she spoke in Chinese, it would have been much clearer.
4) The questions were MCQ. She merely read out the answers and did not explain how she derive those answers. But seriously, we couldnt understand anyway if she did explain.
5) Her handphone rang 3 times! RINGING MODE! And for goodness sake, she picked up the call and continue with her conversation for at least a minute. She is hopeless!
6) In her panic mode, she forgot to turn on the air-con for around 15mins before some brave soul reminded her.
I can't stand it. I wrote in to the lecturer for a change of class. My econs is not gonna suffer cause of her incompetence.
I seriously dun understand why honours year students should teach. I know that their results are fantastic but good students are not necessarily good teachers. I rather an honours year student who has that passion to teach to be a TA and not someone who needs to do it for the sake of doing it. It sux.
