Red Cliff 2

My first movie of year 2009. I just watch it today. 20 days after it opens. Yes yes I know I'm slow. =(

Nice movie with some funny bits here and there. Finally a movie that kept me awake through-out the 2+ hours, unlike Yes Man and Bedtime Stories which made me Zzzzzzzzz...

Go catch it if you havent watch it.

And Yes! Takeshi Kaneshiro is so shuai. Even with that or-bit centre parting. Heeee.

Happy Lunar New Year!

Having a long weekend is a great start to CNY. Gonna do very last minute shopping for my new clothes. Only bought 1 red top at M)phosis and it's not enough! I also need a new support pillow for a better sleep in the new year. My pedicure is done and going to do my manicure tomorrow. CNY is a time to pamper myself. Haha.

To everyone, 新年快乐 万事如意, 身体健康, 恭喜发财!

Lucky 13

Many people say 13 is an unlucky number but it brought me luck on
13th Jan.

This yellow duckie is a gift from my driving instructor. He gave me this as a
"good luck" present for my test. And the date above is my actual driving test date.

I was so nervous the night before that I was tossing and turning around in
bed. But I was not having high hopes. I know a driving test depends not only on
skill but also on luck as well.

So I took my final revision lesson at 9:50am to familiarize myself with the
hazards that day. And guess what? I performed super badly for that revision. All
kinds of possible mistakes one can make, I made it during that lesson. Then my
instructor encouraged me to make all the mistakes now so that during the test later
I will not commit the same mistake again.

At 1:25pm. I was waiting for my test warm up to start. Starting to get all the
jitters, hands turning cold, heart beating faster and faster and mind racing like
hell. When I was doing my warm up, I wasn't even thinking of driving but my mind
was wandering about the test. Then I went to MOUNT KERB! That's an
immediate failure! I was lucky that this is only the warm up. The instructor told
me to be extra careful then I started to drive normally which made him say that
I have a very high chance to pass. Thanks to his reassurance that I managed to
calm down and think properly.

At 2:45pm. An old frail man, my tester called my name. He doesn't look
intimidating at all so that got me at ease for a moment. It started with the
circuit courses. Everything was smooth till my parallel parking. This is not
considered as my weak point because I had tons of practice for it. And guess what?
I striked the pole. It wobbled but did not fall. My heart sank. 4points gone.
Then I did an emergency brake, the old man looked as if he felt uncomfortable from
that sudden jerk. I dunno why but I just ask if he is alright. Haha silly me.
The drive along my test route was better, it was smooth with no hiccups. We went
back to the driving centre and he handed me this.

Yay! I passed. Other than 4points given for striking the pole, the rest were failing
to check for safety which are minor issues. I was so happy. He said he didnt have
much to comment about my driving and he just congratulated me. =)

My booking statement for my test. Lucky car 57! I told myself if I pass I
must buy 4D. Haha. But it seems like I was too happy that I forgotten
all about it.

My PDL (Provisional Driving License) that has been with me for about 5months.
Been driving around Bukit Batok and Tech Whye area using this. And now, I am
waiting for my real driving license. Woohoo!

The words "You can drive while awaiting the delivery of your photocard driving
license" got me excited about driving on the roads. Ted ask mi if i wanna drive
around after my test and so I brought myself a present from the petrol kiosk.

Tadah! My probation plate. It was my first time driving on the expressway as learners are not allowed on it. It was quite scary because there were so many cars and they followed really closely behind me.

Another thing is, I suck at parking without poles. Goodness. I really cant park properly without the poles lei. Horrible right? I must learn it soon.

But all in all, I am very happy that I passed on my first attempt. =)
