Valentine Batam Trip

What a great way to spend V day at Batam. I get to travel, relax, have fun and finally not slogging my head off on weekends. I think this is the happiest wk-end I had in year 2009.

Harris Resort at Batam, Waterfront. This is the signature pic that everyone will take. I see it all the time when I was surfing around for info on Harris.

The swimming pool looks tempting in the hot weather. I had my swimming suit on the whole day but I didn't go for a dip. Had too much of other things to do at Batam than swim.

Our room. Two super big and comfy beds. I slept so soundly for just a night stay. Usually I can't get used to sleeping on "unfamiliar" beds.

When you draw the curtains, this is the view of the swimming pool. Looks like a chalet isn't it? We stayed on the first floor, should have requested for higher levels instead. Maybe next time we shall do that.

Their valentine decorations on the bed. Hmmmmm.. doesn't add to the romantic feel though. I rather they had rose petals all over the bed than this. -_-

After settling down, we decided to go for our free game at their bowling centre.

So many lanes!

But no people! We had the whole place to ourselves.

Introducing the 2 bowlers (T and A). T is the winner, as usual. I have another story to tell regarding bowling but that will be kept till my next post.

After the game of bowling, we thought that it might be a good idea to just nua for a while in the room before our V day dinner at 7pm. At that time it was about 5pm.

However after nua-ing for some time in the room, we sensed that something is wrong. The clock at the bowling centre showed 4pm when it was 5pm on our watch. That means we ended up slacking for 3hours just for the dinner! Arghhh. Bad choice. "Just for laughs" and Jacky Wu's variety show was what kept us busy during that 3 hours.

Finally it's 7pm, that 3hours of TV-watching was killing us. Lol. This was the reception area and every couple that paid for the V day package started taking pic with this.

This was our shot. I chopped off the legs cause they look ugly. Hee. Lousy photographer.

This was the venue for the buffet dinner. Enjoying the seabreeze with musicians entertaining us with love songs.

Our welcome drink. It tastes like Bandung + Sprite. I find it quite nice. I kept asking for refills. Maybe one day can try this "concoction" at home.

Our buffet dinner. There were soooo many variety of food, which is good, however the taste was yucky. I got super excited when I saw crabs along the buffet line. I quickly grab a few of them on my plate. But what a waste of crabs lor. They BBQ-ed the crabs and some parts were charred so the crab meat didn't taste nice at all.

After dinner, we rushed down for our spa appointment which is the highlight of our trip. I do not want oil massage cause I do not want to remove my clothes. So my darling chose Shiatsu Massage, the one with cracking. HOWEVER, i still need to remove all my clothes. *Cry* V paiseh to let some stranger massage my bare naked body leh~. I kept closing my eyes when i was lying down. *shy*

But it was really shiok. The body scrub made my skin feeling so soft and smooth. The massage is relaxing except the part where she stepped on my back and legs. I was almost squashed flat cause she is definitely heavier than me lor and I had to withstand her body weight. Gosh~

After around 2hours of body scrub plus massage, it's time to submerge ourselves in a nice milk bath.
Finally I can show some pictures. This is the hut where both of us can dip ourselves in the jacuzzi milk bath.

Because of the jacuzzi and we kept playing with the water, the foam got out of hand. The foam level was so high that I can't sit down on the tub without the foam covering my face. Tried to find the knob to turn off the jacuzzi but we cant find it. Then we swept the overflowing foam to the bathing area.

Hehe, this is the result of our milk bath. LOL. To end off our spa package, they served us green tea. All in all, the whole session lasted about 3hours+. Very shiok!

That sums up the end of our first day in Batam.

The next morning, we had a very sumptuous breakfast. I had porridge, sunny side up egg, scrambled eggs, fried noodles, beef, beans, honey stars cereals, cakes, croissants, orange juice, tea, etc. I find their breakfast soooooo much nicer than that V day dinner I had last night. Yummyyyy.

After breakfast we set off to play Archery. It's only $8 for 20 arrows. Cheap Cheap.

We were waiting for a family of 4 to finish their archery game before we get to play. While waiting we were sitting at some shady area but still got alil sunburnt. We forgot we just had our body scrub and there are no more dead cells to protect us! So dumb right?

It was time for lunch. Wanted to go to Golden Prawn for lunch but it costs $16 to Golden Prawn and $16 back to our resort. That's bloody $32 on taxi! Not worth it. So we googled (yes, we IT ppl still can't get our hands off the comp while on a holiday) and forumers recommended Delima Seafood which is near to our resort.

This row of shophouses is where Delima Seafood is. Looks rundown and vacated right?

Eating area just beside the sea.

My view of the sea while enjoying my seafood.

Ever since I tasted such lousy crabs last night, I felt that I had to spend some money for good crabs. It costs only $16 for 1 large crab lor. I dunno how large is their large. But it's cheap compared to Singapore prices. But we were there too early, there are no crabs yet. Kaoz. Damn suay.

So we settled for cereal prawns, tom yum soup, omelette and a fish. I like the prawns and omelette, as for the fish, it has too much of the "yu xing wei" and the tom yum soup tasted weird. Overall I think the food is ok and the price is quite cheap. About $30+ for this meal.

After that while waiting for the shuttle to go to the harbour we had foot reflexology. Damn, my left foot hurts while he is massaging. My right foot doesn't hurt that much. Sometimes I find foot reflexology very shiok yet very dumb to spend money to feel pain. *shakes head*

Finally it's home sweet home. This is Waterfront harbour.

And a scenic photo that I like v much. Nice?

Although I didn't do much at Batam but I was so exhausted, I slept throughout the 1 hour ferry back home. When I reach home I concussed at night. No idea why I was so tired. But I'm glad that I had a happy V day, which is something different from fanciful dinner, flowers, presents, etc.

I can't wait to travel again. =)

Happy 4th Valentine Day my dear. How time flies~
